We've changed our name but everything else is the same! GB Tennis of Wake Forest is now 4F Tennis. We use the GREATBASE Tennis system which is a proven pathway delivered in a manner that matches the goals of students aspiring to play US college tennis and beyond. This system is a fact-based method of instruction for long-term development put together by Steve Smith, who has close to fifty years of diversified experience. Steve's life work has been studying tennis masters and methodologies. GreatBase Tennis is a system of systems that is rich in tennis history.
Coach Adam Schainblatt, offers Wake Forest and Raleigh, NC this unique fact-based method for learning and excelling at tennis. We specialize in junior early development and offer a complete tennis education for all ages and levels. With strong attention to detail our priority is helping students becoming brilliant at basic stroke production.
We focus on singles and doubles as most college coaches want players who are able to win in singles and doubles, who can play the net and have the ability to serve and volley.
In singles we emphasize an aggressive, high percentage, first strike, forcing tennis style that aims to transition from the baseline and finish points at the net. This style includes consistency, proper point construction utilizing both offensive and defensive skills with the ability to play from the service line forward and finishing points.
In doubles we use a system that enables one to take charge of the match with superior court positioning, smart shot selection, team work, knowing the roles and responsibilities of each partner, with patient and high percentage plays as vital for success.
"There is no second chance for a great beginning. It is harder to unlearn and relearn than learn the correct way from the beginning. - Steve Smith
We encourage all students in our tennis programs to become goal oriented-players. Acceptance into our school is not based on skill level but to excel one needs to be determined, coachable and hard working. Our focus is 'learn to play’ using 'principle based’ teaching not “play to learn” as promoted by many mainstream organizations. Our desire is to help your child develop proper stroke mechanics from the beginning so he/she can progress to the highest levels and learn to love this great game that can be enjoyed over a lifetime.
